SLOMO.TV is excited to introduce the new Arrow 4K, a new broadcast-grade 2U server designed to provide an easy and affordable way to work with 4K replays, adding to the 4K server range following the success of the Simple R 4K in 2023.
The Arrow 4K is the successor to the highly popular and reliable multi-channel recording and replay server, the Arrow III. Its compact dimensions (2U, 88 x 482 x 512 mm) and lightweight design (12 kg) make it an ideal choice for mobile solutions and integration into existing studio and OB van infrastructures.
Professional 4K replays have never been this accessible
The availability of cost-effective 4K cameras like the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast has enabled small and medium-sized companies to produce high-quality 4K sports broadcasts. SLOMO.TV has developed the Arrow 4K system to cater to URSA Broadcast users, allowing smaller studios to compete in the sports video production market.
With 4K Replay mode supporting 4 recording channels, Super Motion camera support and network functionality, the Arrow 4K is an ideal foundation for a multichannel recording and replay OB van subsystem offering compact, broadcast-grade instant slow-motion replays in 4K. This allows smaller studios to match the capabilities of larger, more expensive OB vans. With the Arrow 4K, SLOMO.TV continues to push the boundaries of 4K broadcasting, making it more accessible and affordable for companies of all sizes.
Features
Arrow 4K can be purchased without the 4K option being activated and used with HD/3G SDI in the meantime. The device is fully compatible with HD/3G SDI and offers no loss of functionality. The 4K option may be enabled at the user's discretion at a later time.
The Arrow 4K is equipped with 12G-SDI interfaces and retains all the key features of SLOMO.TV servers, which include:

Reliable and simple recording for NLE with DMR™ technology
Arrow 4K is an excellent alternative to large recording servers with the DMR™ option. DMR™ technology enables recording from SDI inputs using the selected codec (ProRes; AVID DNxHD; DVCPro HD; DVCPro 50; IMX; XDCAM 50; AVC-Intra 100/XAVC) to a built-in video array in a fail-safe high-reliability file format while simultaneously recording to any available file storage (DAS/NAS/SATA disk installed in the built-in DMR racks) in native file formats of NLE systems. DMR™ also enables the server to work with 'growing files' (MXF, XDCAM 50), which allow video material to be edited during recording. For example, 8 XDCAM 422 50 Mbit video can be simultaneously recorded to one 2.5" SSD.
Arrow 4K can handle recording of up to 8 HD-channels and up to 3 4K-channels for NLE with DMR™ and has 3 built-in DMR™ racks for HDDs/SSDs.
Arrow 4K options for optimized production
To offer flexibility in different production environments, the Arrow 4K can be equipped with the following options:
- The remote workplace option allows additional workplaces to be connected via the Internet or LAN. This provides a way to work independently of the server's physical location and the actions of other users with minimal delay, which is based solely on the speed of data transmission over the internet (approximately 120 ms, even when working with distant regions).
- Multi-PGM option offers the unique ability of using PGM + PVW as well as a separate PGM playlist on one replay server. Separate control of each playlist is possible using the specialized MPGM-Control panel (included with the option) connected via USB.
