The compact 1U SLOMO.TV Arrow III and Simple R IIM servers deliver strong performance, enabling advanced capabilities – such as search across all channels, simultaneous replays and recording for NLE editing.

There are various tasks where the limitations are dictated not by the processing power of the server, but by the physical and quantitative constraints of the SDI I/O – for example, when 8 channels are insufficient, or when it is necessary to connect NDI cameras or IP video sources. Therefore, support for IP inputs is needed.

From an engineering standpoint, connecting IP cameras is simpler and allows cameras to be placed in locations where it is difficult to run coaxial and power cables. Because of the simplified deployment, any televised event may choose to combine broadcast SDI cameras with specialized IP cameras.

To address such scenarios, SLOMO.TV has released a new software option IP-Connect for the Arrow III and Simple R IIM servers, which allows the use of IP cameras operating via the standard NDI and RTSP protocols.

Features:

  • 4 NDI inputs and 1 NDI output are added to the server
  • Support for up to 4 additional IP cameras
  • Upgraded operational mode of 11 recording channels + 11 search channels + 2 playback channels + FX with the interface automatically adapting to 11-channel mode.

Connected IP cameras can run in 2x mode (100–120 frames per second), enabling the use of high-speed cameras like the SLOMO.TV mini-2x-vR-Cam or the AIDA HD-NDI3-120 for Super Slow Motion effects.

The mini-2x-vR-Cam camera is an ideal complement. It is compact, easy to install, and can be connected virtually anywhere and at any venue. Together with the SLOMO.TV server and IP-Connect, these cameras help diversify the broadcast of any events with additional camera angles in supermotion, which significantly expands the creative possibilities for the director. Sports events can be given extra suspense and captivating dynamics — making the broadcasts truly engaging for viewers.

The option also includes additional settings for the IP cameras: remote adjustment of the lens (zoom, focus, and aperture – available only for the mini-2x-vR-Cam), as well as exposure and color correction.

With IP-Connect enabled and the number of operating channels increased to 12, the server still retains all core features: search across all channels, automatic playlist creation, and control via the dedicated Control ZR remote control panel (which can manage the increased number of cameras by design).

In short, when using an entry level SLOMO.TV server with the new IP-Connect option and 4 mini‑2x‑vR‑Cams, it functionally reaches the capabilities of top-tier servers while maintaining its compact size and reliability.
