Lithuanian Basketball League – Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL) is one of the leaders in the world of basketball. It holds the 4th place in FIBA ranking of men's teams. During its annual seminar for coaches and referees held on September 3 in Druskininkai participants had a chance to test a video judging system for basketball – videoReferee®-B. This test coincided with the latest changes and additions to basketball rules presented at the seminar.
The system was tested at a special game between teams of Kazakhstan and Zalgiris, Kaunas.
It was used quite a few times and every time referees and coaches praised its ability in helping to resolve contentious issues.
The next step will be extensive testing of videoReferee® systems at regular games of Lithuania championship.
