Affordable and Powerful Broadcast-grade Recording and Replay Servers

The Arrow Series is a great tool for any professional TV production task, sports broadcasting and recording for nonlinear editing (NLE) of TV shows and programs.

Affordable, powerful and compact 2U servers offer all the benefits of slomo.tv systems, an extensive set of options to meet production needs and a fast record-breakingly and well-thought-out replay interface.

The Series includes 2 platforms – Arrow III and Arrow V.

Arrow III

Arrow V

Number of bi-directional SDI Inputs / Outputs

8 SDI I/Os

16 SDI I/Os

Slow motion replays

Search and marking are done using the Main Interface or Multiviewer, rather than a separate Playback channel with SDI output. The number of search channels always equals the number of recording channels.

HD: up to 772 configuration (7 Rec + 7 Search + 2 Playback + FX)

3G: 662 configuration (6 Rec + 6 Search + 2 Playback + FX)

HD: up to 14142 configuration (14 Rec + 14 Search + 2 Playback + FX)

3G: 14142 configuration (14 Rec + 14 Search + 2 Playback + FX)

Recording for NLE

Recording is made to internal storage for further export or, using DMR™ technology, to removable HDDs/SSDs directly in NLE native video files

HD: Up to 8 channels with DMR™

3G: Up to 6 channels with DMR™

HD: Up to 16 channels with DMR™

3G: Up to 8 channels with DMR™

Built-in DMR™ Racks

For standard removable 3.5” SATA HDDs. Recording for NLE, export, import

3 DMR™ Racks

3 DMR™ Racks

Note, that the first number in configuration indicates the number of recording channels, the second one is the number of search channels and the last one is the number of playback channels. (Because the search in our servers can be done on all recording channels simultaneously, the number of search channels always equals the number of recording channels).

Record-breakingly fast high-performance replay interface

Intuitive and fast push-button replay interface. A skilled operator needs 1.5 times less time to create and save clips with slomo.tv systems than with other servers.

High performance comes from the following features of slomo.tv servers:

  • Simultaneous search on all channels
  • A unique feature of slomo.tv systems; not available on other servers.

  • Automatic clip creation
  • In Instant Replay mode, all aired clips are automatically saved into playlists.

  • Specialized replay controller
  • Direct access to most of the functions. The tactile controller's interface allows the operator to work blindly.

  • Unique combination of slomo.tv's Jog/Shuttle, server performance and advanced algorithms
  • With only Jog/Shuttle, the operator controls the search speed: from very accurate to very fast.

SSM cameras support

The Arrow servers are integrated with Super Slow Motion cameras from most manufacturers, providing support for 2x, 3x, 4x SuperMo (e.g. Panasonic AK-UC4000), as well as Xtra Motion 6x (GVG LDX-86 HS/XS) and HyperMotion. The number of required SDI inputs depends on the used camera's shooting speed.

SSD-based subsystem

Provides instant response to control commands, high performance when working with a large number of channels and makes the server more resistant to mechanical impact (shocks and heavy vibration).

The simple, fast and well-thought-out slomo.tv interface allows you in just 15 - 30 minutes of training to start producing replays. Further training deepens knowledge and skills and significantly increases operator's productivity. Experienced operators can work single-handedly with 12-15 video channels simultaneously.

The basic replay interface is designed so that replay operators who have experience with other systems can quickly and seamlessly switch to new equipment without performance loss.

Transfer function – integration into the network environment

All slomo.tv servers support exchanging of video materials between locally networked slomo.tv servers.

Depending on the model, the servers are equipped with 1/10 GbE interface for video exchange, integration into a network environment of TV companies and recording to a NAS.

DMR™ (Direct Movie Record) – Multi-channel recording direct in NLE native files with absolute material protection

At its compact size, Arrow servers provide recording for NLE to removable drives without any additional external equipment.

The proprietary DMR™ technology is the unique feature of slomo.tv servers. When working with the DMR™, the server records video from SDI inputs with selected codec (ProRes; AVID DNxHD; DVCPro HD; DVCPro 50; IMX; XDCAM 50; AVC-Intra 100/XAVC) to a built-in video array in a fail-safe high reliability file format and to any available file storage in native files of NLE systems. Typically, recording is performed on 3.5" SATA spin drives installed in specialized toolless/trayless racks. The material is duplicated and kept safe.

The Arrow systems are equipped with 3 built-in Racks for removable DMR™ drives.

2 graphics ports

Availability of 2 graphics ports allows connecting up to 2 monitors, which can be used to display the Main Interface, Multiviewer, as well as Game Analyzer (Telestrator). A single monitor can also be used to display multiple interfaces with the ability to switch between them (MultiSkin function).

Support for growing files

With the DMR™ option, the server works with growing files (MXF, XDCAM 50). Usually MXF growing files are recorded to a NAS, connected to the editing systems supporting such technology (for example, Adobe Premiere). This allows editing of video material right after the start or during the recording.

Replay console

Each server comes with a Control ZR replay console.

Control ZR is designed for maximum speed and efficiency. It has 51 RGB backlit buttons with light and color indication, providing hints for the operator. The control panel provides direct access to 24 cameras in replay mode.

The T-bar provides over 1000 values of lever position. The console comes with slomo.tv's specialized Jog/Shuttle. The Shuttle wheel has 64 left and right positions, which allows you to control the search speed and the playback speed. Control console can be connected via RS-232/422, USB and Ethernet. It is powered by PoE and by USB.

Available at ordering

The built-in storage capacity can be expanded for the Arrow III to 133 hours of HD video 100 Mbps and for the Arrow V up to 266 hours. Redundant power is also available.

Demo licenses

With each new server, the user gets 20 demo licenses for single use of various options. This allows testing the options in real production.
