videoReferee®-ST – is an entry level model of Video Assistant Referee solution (VAR)

videoReferee®-ST – is an entry level model of Video Assistant Referee solution (VAR) designed for football with wide upgrade options.

Slomo.tv's VAR system combines compact size, ease of use and wide range of options.

videoReferee®-ST is the most affordable VAR system on the market that meets all requirements for VAR. One 4U server provides simultaneous support of up to 12 3G/HD video input channels. Having 12 SDI video inputs it meets the minimum VAR requirements of supporting at least eight cameras, one of which is High Speed. The system includes a SuperMo option which allows configuration with SSM cameras. High speed cameras are used in working with difficult, controversial moments in which resolution of 60 phases of movement per second is not enough and therefore having at least one camera which provides 150/180 phases of movement per second is very important.

When it is necessary to increase the number of input channels, users can expand the capabilities of the system to 16 inputs by purchasing an additional license.

The system can have the optional second workplace for VAR assistant (AVAR). The second workplace allows two replay operators (RO) to simultaneously and independently work with different questionable moments or on the same moment with different camera angles. Should VAR require the video material, it can be instantly transferred to the main workplace for review. This can significantly speed up the refereeing process – one RO works with VAR, the other one – with AVAR. If the upgrade to 16 video inputs option is used, the use of a second workstation is mandatory (requirements for VAR).

Quad screens for each operator can be created using individual presets. For example, the left and right halves of the field. This speeds up camera selection in the search process.

The ability to configure the system allows adapting it to different conditions depending on the stadium or the requirements of a particular football competition.

videoReferee®-ST – is:

  • Simultaneous support for up to 12 3G/HD video channels (up to 16 3G/HD video channels with additional license)
  • Up to 2 independent workplaces (VAR / Assistant VAR / Replay Operators). The 2nd workplace is licensed as an option
  • Fast preparation of video materials for VAR's and referee's review
  • Support of Super Slow Motion cameras
  • Up to 3 seconds (75 frames) adjustable delay in displaying of the Main Camera on VAR monitor. This is necessary to ensure that a controversial moment seen on the main camera, could be instantly watched on the VAR monitor.
  • Integration with the most popular Referee Intercom system Vokkero
  • Analysis of controversial moment at normal and slow motion speed
  • ZOOM and Frame-by-Frame viewing which provides 50/60 individual phases of movement when working with a standard signal
  • Virtual offside line function (Option)
  • Intuitive gesture interface with support of channel selection, playback speed control, ZOOM and Frame-by-Frame viewing
  • SDI output for the replay review area (RRA) monitor on the field and for broadcasters
  • Specialized VR-Keypad for each workplace, which provides instant access to the necessary cameras and allows to work with preconfigured 2, 3, 4 camera presets
  • Quick creation of the VAR Multiscreen with 2, 3, 4 cameras
  • Three (3) back-lit RGB buttons for: communication between VAR and referee on the pitch; events marking and timing control
  • Intuitive interface when working with Multiscreen
  • Flexible and fast creation and use of Multiscreens
  • Dimensions: 4U, 19.5 kg.

videoReferee®-ST meets all requirements for VAR systems

The system has a hardware option for working with Vokkero intercoms and a virtual offside line option (currently not mandatory).

Presence of the red referee button for controlling the communication between VAR and referee helps avoid accidental interference with referee’s communication. In addition, the main workstation is equipped with a blue button for timing control, and each RO workstation can be equipped with a green button for events marking.

The system has a separate SDI video output for the monitor installed in the replay review area on the field. At the request of the referee, camera views or playback speed can be quickly changed.

The videoReferee®-ST system can be installed in the VOR room on the stadium as well as in its immediate vicinity.
