To satisfy potential customers who want to have a professional broadcast class replays at a lower price we created a system which provides the same features as Simple R, but at a more affordable price. Arrow is a new family of products, which includes the Arrow 441, Arrow 442 and Arrow 662.

The main difference between Arrow and Simple R is the use of hard drives instead of SSD and slightly larger size - 2U instead of 1U for Simple R.

But there is a silver-lining:

  • Advantage of using hard drives, is that it allows you to have a greater video storage capacity.
  • By increasing the size of the chassis we were able to add a built-in DMR™ Trayless Toolless Rack for 3.5" SATA HDD, and now there is no need to connect an external USB drive for export of recorded material.

Especially for users with a limited budget, we have built into the server the ability to work with HDMI™ sources.

The system has two graphics port, which can be configured as:

  • Main Interface
  • MultiViewer or Game Analyzer.

The products of Arrow Series allow users to have practically all of the options available for servers Simple R.

The professional TV internet magazine "The broadcast bridge" published an article about us: "Video Judging for Basketball and Canoe Slalom".

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On December 9, Broadcast Solutions GmbH held its highly publicized event in Bingen, Germany. The main theme of the day was video production in 4K.

The uniqueness of this event was that the participants were able to compare the work of 4K broadcast cameras shooting the same objects. The following 4K cameras participated in this "shoot-out": Grass Valley - LDX-86, Hitachi - SK-UHD4000, Ikegami – a prototype of a second generation 4K UNICAM camera and Sony - HDC-4300.

SLOMO.TV demonstrated two servers for working with 4K 50p: The company flagship - BlackJack 4K, and a completely new system - Arrow 4K.

For the entire Arrow product line with its distinguished short 2U chassis format this was a 2015 premiere. As a junior member of the company's 4K line, Arrow 4K possesses unique features unavailable in servers of other manufacturers. In particular, the server supports simultaneous recording of 2 channels 4K50p/4K60p, search on 2 channels and playback of 2 channels. Also it should be noted that Arrow 4K is the most affordable 4K replay server in the world.

The BlackJack 4K shown at the event is also a unique system. It supports 3 recording channels 4K, search on 3 channels and playback of 3 channels simultaneously.

All slomo.tv 4K servers have the following advantages:

  • The use of a standard Full HD display for displaying the interface with built-in multiviewer. This eliminates the need of using several 4K / 4x3G SDI monitors.
  • Support of all available transmission options: 4K50p/4K60p signals via 4 x 3G SDI - Quadrant transmission using 3G Level A / 3G Level B and SMPTE 425-3.
  • The ability to create Quick Time ProRes full resolution files natively compatible with editing systems.
  • SSD based subsystems, common to all slomo.tv servers.
  • Ability to work in a network.

Designing Simple R servers, we assumed that they will be used in small productions and will not work in a network environment.

During the past three years Simple R from the little kid grew up to become a formidable player in broadcasting which can successfully compete with the big boys.

Simultaneously: 6 recording channels, 6 search channels and 2 playback channels; SSD video storage - 80 hours at 100 Mbit/sec.; built-in multiviewer and telestrator with Wacom Cintiq; support of 3 graphical interfaces with MultiSkin function; redundant power supply; AES/MADI audio; support of 3G 60P, 2X, 3X, 6X and HiMotion cameras. And all this in 1U and less than 6 kg.

Our Simple R servers are now used in competitions at all levels, including the World Championships, European, Asian Games, UEFA, the Davis Cup, etc. This this required that these "kids" will be part of the team. The new option "Transfer" provides the ability for exchanging clips and playlists between servers. This affordable option is very easy and convenient to use.

It helps broadcasters, which began with a Simple R 331 to grow and do serious productions, connecting Simple R`s into a common mechanism for replays.

videoReferee® by slomo.tv is rightly considered to be the best sports video judging system. This is in part because the company can create these easy to operate specialized systems for different applications and conditions.

The new basketball judging system videoReferee®-B met all major FIBA requirements: compliance with regulations, compactness, integration with scoreboard controller, the ability to display the video judging process on the secondary monitor and at a reasonable price.

The compact system supports 4 SD or HD cameras connected via the SDI or HDMI interface. It is based on the 2U short Arrow platform, which makes it easy to transport. The system provides HDD storage for 50 hours of HD broadcast quality video and can work with one or two monitors. Its multiskin function allows comfortable operation using a single monitor in a confined space.

The referee’s interface via HDMI™ output can be displayed on a big screen or provide a signal to TV broadcasters using HDMI to SDI converter. vR controllers are connected via USB interface.

Integration with scoreboard controllers for official game information, including timings is in accordance with FIBA requirements.

The 3.5" SATA trayless/toolles rack allows storing exported materials on standard 3.5" SATA drives.

5 videoReferee®-B are now became an integral part of the games.of Lithuanian Basketball League - Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL).

For many years now our instant replay systems are using remote console Control Z connected via RS-422. To meet customer requests for a flexible choice of connection interfaces the new version of controller allows to connect it to server via the following interfaces: Ethernet 10 / 100Mbit; USB 1.1 / 2.0; RS-232; RS-422. Type of interface is selected in configuration menu at the startup. The option to have sound when pressing the keys have also become available.

Control-Zx can use PoE and of course power from the USB.

In order to maintain compatibility with already installed systems, we did not change the controller connector. Connections to Ethernet or USB are done by simply selecting the appropriate adapter cable.

Another implemented feature is Cascading. Now using a special cable you can connect a second controller to the same system. The second controller can be Control Z/Zx or mini Control 6/10.

New controllers can be ordered right now.

Slomo.tv has integrated its replay servers with Grass Valley LDX 86 HS/XS camera. At the moment, all servers supporting 3G-SDI, can be issued a license for working with this camera. For the operators working with this camera is no different than working with 3x, 2x or normal speed cameras.

It should be emphasized that slomo.tv offers a wide range of servers for this camera - from the top BlackJack AT/3G, the world's only server that supports 4 such cameras, to a compact budget solution on the basis of Simple R 662 Plus. Like all Simple R family servers, the 662 Plus is 1U - 45 cm and weighs 5.8 kg., which is the smallest size of any broadcast class servers.

The Full HD 6X LDX 86 HS/XS camera is positioned between HyperMotion and SuperMotion cameras. Because of its unique ability to capture 360 movement phases per second this camera, unlike most HyperMotion cameras, allows external servers to record video directly at full speed. The camera can work in interlaced or progressive mode sending video using 3 3G-SDI signals.

At frame rate of 2 times the standard 3x camera it can be used at sporting events, where before it was necessary to use HyperMotion camera.

The LDX 86 HS/XS camera and Simple R 662 Plus were used during Beach Volleyball Grand Slam broadcasts and can be seen on IBC2015 slomo.tv stand 8.B40.
